Our Impact
Our Impact Fund is driven by an impact strategy and shaped by four key pillars. These are integrated into our core operations, strengthening our commitment to sustainable change within our sphere of influence. Our impact flows through our incredible people, who come from the diverse communities and neighbourhoods in which we operate
We recognise that health is crucial for realising potential. By tackling the challenges of expensive private care and inadequate healthcare infrastructure in remote areas, where many of our people live, we support our people and their families, and contribute to community upliftment.
We are committed to transitioning to renewable resources and reducing our carbon footprint. By expanding our initiatives, we are aligning with our environmental responsibility and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our operations and the environment on which they depend.
We have identified education and training as key mechanisms to breaking the cycle of dependency. By implementing targeted initiatives, we invest in our people, equipping them with skills, knowledge and experience that empowers them to actively contribute to our economy.
We want to uplift our communities and in so doing, reduce social inequality. By sourcing goods and services locally, we empower entrepreneurs to participate in the tourism economy, creating opportunities for sustainable levels of prosperity whilst further reducing our carbon footprint.
Meaningful Change
Meaningful change can only happen when you partner with people who share your vision for a better future. In each pillar, we align with subject-matter specialists who embody our commitment to transforming our communities, our country and our planet. Carefully selected for each project, these experts guide initiatives to completion, maximising their potential for positive change.
Our key project partner in community development is More Community Foundation. With a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this space, the team provides a crucial link between our businesses and the impact we make in communities surrounding Lion Sands Game Reserve.
Collective Approach
Impact is a shared responsibility, and our funding model reflects this collective approach. To support these initiatives, fund contributions come from multiple sources.
Each guest's stay includes an Impact Levy, which directly supports the Impact Fund and our four key pillars. This contribution enables guests to become active participants, leaving a lasting, positive impact on the areas they explore.
Our valued trade partners and suppliers extend their commitment to making meaningful impact by contributing to the fund. These collaborations create a powerful network of support, enhancing our ability to drive lasting change in our communities.
Individuals who are passionate about contributing to meaningful and sustainable change can make private donations to the Impact Fund. The generosity of these donations helps us create ripples of positive change. Donations can be made to specific projects.
Throughout the year, we organise various fundraising events that bring our greater community together for a common cause. These initiatives raise funds while also increasing awareness for our supported projects, inspiring collective action and shared responsibility.
Every MORE Family Collection business proudly contributes a percentage of its profits to the fund. By reinvesting a portion of our success, we collectively make an impact in the communities and neighbourhoods in which we operate.
