There’s something romantic about being ensconced in a historic Cape Dutch manor house overlooking vineyards, a dam, roses and picturesque gardens with the breathtaking Helderberg Mountains framing it all. Navarre Residence is a magnificent example of 1800s architecture with its thatched roofs, whitewashed walls, and its neo-classical gable dated 1815. It is one of the best-preserved Cape Dutch homes in the Western Cape with most of her original beautiful yellowwood and a classic stable door that creates a rustic yet elegant charm.

The recently refurbished interiors offer luxurious modern comfort, with four bedrooms, two lounges with fireplaces, a spacious dining area, a fully equipped family kitchen, braai facilities, and a pool. This is your private haven surrounded by nothing but nature, where you and your family can unwind and reconnect away from the city and distractions.

Experiences

As a fully operational wine farm, you can participate in unique experiences like grape harvesting or olive picking, depending on the season. We can also arrange an orientation tour to delve into the intricacies of winemaking and the incredible history of the farm.

Do your family members like to be active and outdoors on holiday? The farm and surrounds offer cycling and running paths, and forest trails for long, meditative walks. Prefer more laid-back activities? There’s birding with one of our experts, picnicking, or you can cast a line in the well-stocked dam or row out in a boat and enjoy the serenity.

If your idea of a holiday is cocooning at home with the family, our beautiful residence has all you need on-site from relaxation and entertainment spaces to every amenity and creature comfort thought of, all exclusively yours to enjoy. As Navarre Residence is only 15 minutes’ drive from the historic university town of Stellenbosch, it’s easy to spend a day meandering down its tree-lined streets, visiting museums, markets, and galleries, stopping for refreshments at the alfresco cafés or enjoying a meal at the gourmet restaurants. The Stellenbosch area also offers olive oil, chocolate and cheese tastings, and strawberry picking – a fun activity for the whole family.

Our Mack & Madi Kids’ Adventure Explorers programme means we can recommend and arrange all the most exciting and educational family outings and kids’ experiences, that can be enjoyed at your convenience.
